From: Thom Brando (2/10/95) To: Fred Chase Reply to: RE>Orbix? Hi, Fred. I can help you in two ways. First, if you'd like, I can lend you a complete set of Orbix manuals (two 5x7 manuals, each less than 1" thick) that are very well written. Second, you can take a look at some information I've made available via WWW. My home page is: http://www-crcf/~brando My home page contains links to the following pages: http://www-crcf/~brando/orbs.html, which contains links to information about ORBs, including Orbix and even IONA's own Web page; http://www-crcf/~brando/domis.html, which contains links to a paper that describes our work with Orbix and our source code directories, so you can look at Orbix code if you want to; and http://www-crcf/~brando/omg.html, which summarizes what the OMG's doing and has links to many OMG documents and even OMG's own Web page. If you look at these Web documents from a Mac, be aware that many documents (especially the OMG documents) are in PostScipt form, so you won't be able to view them on your Mac. They display fine on a UNIX workstation, however. Just let me know if you'd like to borrow the Orbix manuals. Happy hunting. Do you have material on it I could use to learn about it? -Fred ======================================================================
